Today is day 3 with Alex. He is a little cranky, maybe it is the rain today. I was able to upload a bunch of pics today. I have figured out it is Comcast.net that is being difficult with the pics. Maybe we are uploading at a busy time, who knows. Could be our satellite connection.

We have to go and retake Alex's passport pictures, the first ones were too close and part of his head would be chopped off. YIKES. We do not want any issues at passport control when trying to leave. Today we posted earlier b/c we will be heading out this afternoon. We also went to the Pharmacy to get some medcine for Alex's runny nose and cough. Hopefully they meds will work.

We really appreciate all the comments. It really helps alot to read them from everyone. As you know, PC time is a prime, so we cannot respond to them but please know we read everyone. If anyone hasn't figured out yet, you must type in your post and then click the anonymoust button to actually post your comment.

Here goes for the pics.

1. Typical Russian Apartment building there are many, this one is about a block away.
2. Alex all bundled up in his stroller.
3. The post office
4. Cathy and Alex people watching near the post office in front of a dry fountain.

Note: We have to bundle Alex up like it is 20 degrees or "Babuska" = Grandmas will yell at us in Russian saying we are abusing him. So when in Rome, do as the Romans do, Alex is always layered even when it is 65 degrees.

Thanks for reading.

Love the Van Voorens

hi guys! love the pics! hang in there, you are doing a great job. its a huge transition for you all and will take time. he is an adorable little guy! a little advice? if he has a bit of a cold, have some lollipops (or something appropriate for him) handy to suck on when you take off on the plane. will keep his ears from hurting to much. learned from experience! ha ha. love to you all! j,m,b&d

I really need to stop reading your blog. It's like a soap opera that I can't stop crying over! And you know me...I am not a crier. Best wishes on your return trip home. Alex is such a lucky kid to find you two as his parents. I can't wait to see the three of you in action.

love,

Good morning Scott, Cathy and Alex. The pictures are great! It's nice to see that Alex has some attitude, signs of progress! He is letting you know up front “whose the boss”. So cute! Cathy isn't it amazing how the diaper bag becomes the trendy new purse! I love you. Aunt Caryn

I'm getting hooked on checking to see if you've given updated info or new pictures. Thanks for keeping us in the loop. While it's neat to see photos of the three of you in Russia, what I'm really looking forward to is seeing pictures of you in your own front yard. Take care.
Love,
Jenny

Hi Scott and Cathy

Sorry we missed your call. Now I have two time zones to check for phone calls. Grandpa and you. It is too late to call you today. I will call tomorrow. We always walk between 7:30 and 8:30 in the morning.(for your info.) I am glad to see that you are able to go for a walk. No rain. I see that Alex does not like his hat. I am sure that looks familiar to many parents. Just like his bout with food. That is better I hope.
Good luck with the picture and passport. I will call tomorrow.

Hey guys:

It's going to take awhile for him to get used to it all.

When he gets home and you are in a day to day schedule, he will be on his way.

Food can be a funny thing with kids. Nick would only eat certain things for the longest time!!

Nick never liked his crib! I don't think he ever slept when he was Alex's age. You might want to get his ears checked. Sometimes, that is what keeps them up or teeth.

I sure you will get much advice from everyone!

He looks great!!

Love and miss you guys!!

Awesome pics - thanks for keeping us all updated at home. Glad to see you are able to go out and relax a bit during your stay, even if the little guy is sweating under all those layers. Hope you enjoy the rest of your stay and we'll look forward to seeing you all soon.

Hi Scott and Cathy

YEAH!!!!! We are so excited for you and cannot wait to meet Alex. I was having my own *tear moment* reading your blog and seeing the pics. No two people are more deserving of the happiness your son will bring you and you will bring your son.

Have a safe flight.
